There are many phone leaks in Egypt, but the last of them seems very different in context and content, although it relates to the president of the Zamalek club, lawyer and former deputy Mortada Mansour, who has previously circulated several leaks attributed to him in recent years.
This time, Mansour was the one receiving insults from the second party in the phone conversation, Ahmed Diab, president of the Football Clubs Association in Egypt.
As for the content of the leaked conversation, which does not exceed a few seconds, it cannot be transferred in any way, or even referred to, as it came full of obscenities and insults from Diab, while the president of the Zamalek club was heard threatening and pledging to put his interlocutor in prison.
Mansour also heard telling Diab that he was already recording the call, which did not discourage Diab from continuing, stressing that he was “recording it as well.”
The call, which spread strongly on the communication sites in Egypt, might not be confirmed as to its authenticity or the timing of its occurrence, or even its two sides, but it spread strongly on social networking sites, on Saturday, without specifying the cause of the problem between the two parties that led to that conversation.
For his part, the Egyptian journalist Ahmed Al-Khudari confirmed, in a live broadcast on YouTube, that the recording is old, and dates back to the month of Ramadan (April-May 2022), and that a subsequent session between Mansour and Diab led to “the issue of the matter” and the occurrence of “reconciliation” between them.
And the question remained regarding the timing and purpose of leaking the conversation, knowing that it came hours following a strange “problem”, following circulating controversial banner pictures, which were raised on one of the Zamalek club buildings, bearing insult to the President of the International Handball Federation, Hassan Mustafa, before it was completed. removed quickly.
Mansour, in answer to questions asked inside the club, denied his knowledge of that sign, indicating at the same time that it was not related to the “President of the International Handball Federation”, refusing to make further statements.
And there were deep differences between Mansour and Mustafa years ago, the last of which seemed to be between what led to the removal of the President of Zamalek from his position at the end of 2020, before he returned with a court ruling, and then won the presidential elections that took place last February.
A few months ago, a circulating audio recording of the two sons of the president of the Zamalek club, which included insults to personalities from the club, provoked wide reactions, and Ayman Younes, a former football player in the club, pledged his name in the recording to resort to the judiciary.
In the clip, whose authenticity was not confirmed by Al-Hurra, Amir Mortada Mansour, the supervisor of the club’s football team, advised in a phone call to his brother Ahmed, a member of the board of directors, not to run in the elections for the position of club president.
In the call, Amir indicates that the former Zamalek and Egyptian national team player, Ayman Younis, is not eligible for the position, directing an insulting word to him, and insults to other personalities such as Ahmed Jalal Ibrahim, the former vice president of the club.
Yunus’ response came on Twitter, announcing that he would file a lawsuit to determine the authenticity of this recording.
On the other hand, the hashtag #dismissal_Ahmed_Diab spread in Egypt on Twitter, where some demanded the dismissal of the president of the Association of Clubs, which was established a few months ago as a result of what happened to him.
