Morocco’s national football team defeated its Brazilian guest, 2-1, in Tangiers, in an international friendly match.

Sofiane Boufal (29) and Abdel Hamid Al Sabiri (79) scored the goals of Morocco, and Casemiro (67) scored the Brazil goal.

This victory came for the Moroccan national team to confirm the development of its level following its results in the 2022 World Cup, which made it qualify for the semi-finals for the first time in its history and finish in fourth place.

It is the first victory for the Moroccan national team over Brazil in 3 matches between them so far, following losing to “The Seleçao” twice: the first in a friendly match in 1997 with a score of 0-2, and the second in the group stage in the World Cup in France 1998 with a score of 0-3.

The first match was for the Moroccan national team following its historic career in the 2022 World Cup, when it defeated Belgium, Canada, Spain and Portugal and became the first African and Arab team to qualify for the semi-finals, before losing to France in the semi-finals.

It was also the first match for the Brazilian national team since its disappointing exit from the World Cup quarter-finals, on penalties, once morest Croatia.
