According to Eric Brock, CEO of Ondas, Morocco shows strong leadership in Africa in technological development, particularly in the aeronautics sector, stressing that the Moroccan government, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, is clearly committed to national economic and industrial development. In partnership with Maghrebnet, Ondas plans to deliver value with its Optimus system, an infrastructure solution for capturing aerial data in government and commercial applications.
El-Mekki Benamar, manager at Maghrebnet, mentions that they see many applications for Ondas’ Optimus system in government, industrial and commercial sectors, benefiting from automated data collection and analysis as well as a range of unmanned aerial services.
As part of the memorandum of understanding, Ondas and Maghrebnet have sealed a multi-level commercial partnership. Maghrebnet will introduce Ondas’ systems to potential customers in the region and manage the manufacturing and sales of the automated systems. The two companies are also considering future research and development collaboration in Morocco.
The drone market in the Middle East and Africa is growing. It is estimated at $3.5 billion in 2023, with forecast growth of 8.14%. The market might grow to reach $4.94 billion in revenue by 2028, according to Mordor Intelligence.
