Sales of new cars in Morocco stood at 12,084 units in January 2024, up 6.63% compared to the same month of the past year, according to the Association of Vehicle Importers in Morocco (AIVAM).
By segment, the number of new registrations of private vehicles (PC) stood at 11,074 units, an increase of 5.54% and that of light utility vehicles (LCV) increased by 20.24% to 1,010 units. , specifies AIVAM which has just published its monthly statistics on the Moroccan automobile market.
The Dacia brand dominates the passenger car segment, with a market share of 34.22%, or 3,790 units sold last January, followed by Renault which sold 1,522 units (market share of 13.74%) and Hyundai (1,051 units and 9.49% market share), reports the same source.
As for the LCV segment, Renault sold 273 units (27.03% market share), ahead of DFSK which sold 148 vehicles (14.65% market share) and Ford (141 units and 13.96 % market share).
On the premium side, Audi reached a market share of 3.31% with 366 cars sold, ahead of BMW (a market share of 1.63% and 180 units) and Mercedes-Benz (a market share of 2.25% and 249 units).
For its part, Porsche sold 56 units in January 2024, up 0.51% year-on-year, while Jaguar sales increased by 0.1% to 11 cars.
