Morocco wants to acquire “Delilah” cruise missiles

Morocco is seeking to buy Israeli “Delilah” cruise missiles to further strengthen its defense capabilities on several levels, according to the specialized magazine “Defensa”.

The North African Kingdom has opened negotiations with Israel’s Elbit Systems to obtain the Delilah missiles for its F-5 jets as the country intends to upgrade these supersonic light fighters with sensor systems and jamming systems, data links and an array of modern air-to systems. -Land and air-to-air weapons.

Delilah missiles with a range of 250 km provide precision in deep and surgical strikes once morest moving, fixed or repositionable targets. The missile features an advanced electro-optical (E/O) seeker for day, night and all-weather. Its uses include Air-Surface (AS) and Surface-Surface (SS), targeting ground targets, vehicles and ships, whether stationary or moving.

It can be fitted with a variety of warheads that can be targeted at land and sea targets. It has a turbojet capable of loitering, allowing it to target well-hidden threats in addition to moving targets. Its maneuverability makes the missile ideal for destroying surface-to-air missile threats.

The on-board autopilot and inertial navigation/global positioning systems (INS/GPS) allow the missile to accomplish its mission autonomously. Its compact dimensions allow it to be carried by Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk and SH-60B helicopters
