Morocco violently ejects the DRC

On a favorable ballot following their 1-1 draw from Kinshasa in the first leg, Morocco did not tremble by correcting DR Congo 4-1 on Tuesday in Casablanca in the second leg of the 2022 World Cup.

Although under pressure, the Atlas Lions entered the game well despite the injury of central defender El Yamiq, and goalkeeper Bounou, forced to give up his place following a shock to the head following a long interruption. If the men of Vahid Halilhodzic did not manage to exploit a loss of the Congolese ball, the Angevin Ounahi, surprise holder, took care of removing a big thorn from their foot by scoring with a good recovery on a badly repelled ball (1- 0.21e).

Dominating if not brilliant, the Moroccans made their efficiency speak for themselves before the break by doubling the bet by Tissoudali, already author of the equalizing goal in the first leg (2-0, 45e+7). There too, the Leopards’ defense might have done better to get free… Virtually harmless, Hector Cuper’s men definitely sank on their return from the locker room on a double from Ounahi, served by Tissoudali (3-0, 54e).

This goal had the merit of stinging the pride of the Leopards who finally appeared threatening but Wissa missed the target while Ounahi made a save on his line! Not enough to make the locals doubt. After a post from Tissoudali, Ounahi, decidedly in all good shots, took a shot, repelled by Kiassumbua on Hakimi for the 4-0 (70e). Entering the game, the local of the stage, Ben Malango, ex-scorer of Raja Casablanca, then saved the honor by scoring with a superb sequence control of the chest-recovery in pivot (4-1, 77e). But it will take more to console the Congolese who had managed to make the Moroccans doubt on the way out. It is indeed the Atlas Lions who will go to Qatar to play a second consecutive World Cup!
