The Afmaade Association is organizing from May 4 to 7, 2023, in Rabat, Morocco, the third edition of the International Festival of Young Talents under the High Patronage of His Majesty Mohammed VI.
Rabat, the Moroccan capital is home from May 4 to 7, 2023, the International Festival of Young Talents called “Afrifata Festival” created since 2018. Third of its kind, it is organized by the Afmaade Association. And this initiative aims to be a social incubator dedicated to design and fashion professions for emerging and talented creators. For the founder of the Afrifata festival and president of the Afmaade Association, Zaïneb Karroumi El Kadiri, this is the first pan-African program dedicated to her youth on the African and European continents.
« Our objective is to develop economically and to provide support and guidance to young emerging talents and small emerging businesses in the fields of culture, crafts, textiles and social entrepreneurship. “, she said in a press release.
Afrifata is a festival celebrating fashion and highlighting the richness and diversity of the culture of the African continent. Young talents will be at the center of the four-day meeting, in the form of a competition parade, round tables, a gala dinner parade and a craft exhibition at the African fashion village.
Zaineb Karroumi El Kadiri indicates that an industry is essential to the sustainable development and the growth of the continent. In his opinion, this industry has the potential to contribute to millions of long-term jobs on the African continent, including 60% of the under-25 age group.
“Our vision is to give this young generation who is the future of our continent, the tools, the resources and the relationships that can in turn allow them to flourish and create sustainable businesses and brands. Afrifata exists to have a social and economic impact on young talent in the creative industry,” she explains.
Before adding:We are open to developing partnerships with organizations and companies that share our vision and are committed to contributing not only to the creative professions industry but also to the development of young people through educational projects. ».
The 2023 edition will be punctuated by discussions with experts from the world of textiles and fashion professions from all over the world. This is an excellent opportunity for young people to present their products in the African cultural discovery exhibition during the week of the festival and also in the ephemeral stand of AFRlFATASTORE planned later internationally.
Afrifata 2023 is an opportunity for young people to take advantage of multiple training courses and also the possibility of having access to a privileged international orientation network of knowledge in the world of fashion design, and production on selection, participation in the youth competition talents with prize giving for the winner a Fashion trip in an international Fashion week and an entrepreneurial follow-up….
As a reminder, the creative industry is one of the most dynamic sectors in the world. In 2012, UNCTAD already estimated that the global market for goods and services exported by this sector was worth around 473 billion dollars. According to the same report, in this sector of creative industries, it is highlighted that 69% was made up of media and design. But what is the share of Africa in this business and how to capture the maximum flow?
Afrifata wants to be an African answer to this question.
