The Russian agency Rosselkhoznadzor, the equivalent of the National Office for Sanitary Safety of Food Products (ONSSA) in Morocco, has just published a press release in which it indicates the figures for Russian imports of vegetables and fruits at the end of the first seven month of the year 2022.
According to this, Morocco is the leading supplier of the Russian Federation with a margin of 45%, out of a total of 5.1 million tonnes, followed by Turkmenistan (30%), Kazakhstan (21%), Tajikistan (16% ), Uzbekistan – 14%, China (11%). Among Moroccan exports to Russia are more than 53.6 thousand tons of clementines and more than 33.7 thousand tons of mandarins.
The Kingdom tops the list of suppliers, although Russia’s geographical proximity to other suppliers is more beneficial, Rosselkhoznadzor says the Russia-Turkey, Russia-Iran, Russia-India and Russia-China foreign trade corridors are functioning normally.
