The British consulting firm Brand Finance published its annual report on the most influential nations in the world on the occasion of its annual Global Soft Power meeting organized on March 2, 2023. In this report, Morocco has succeeded in positioning itself in the top 3 African most influential nations, despite a slight drop in its score. With a score of 39.2 points, Morocco is in 55th position in the ranking, a decrease of 9 places compared to the previous year.
However, Morocco still remains at the top of the African podium outside the Middle East, placing itself just behind Egypt and South Africa. Moreover, Morocco is doing better than some African countries such as Algeria, Ivory Coast, Ghana or Nigeria, thus ranking as an influential nation in the world.
Despite its lower position in the rankings, Morocco remains a strong player in soft power, scoring high in areas such as familiarity and reputation. The country also has a unique cultural richness and historical heritage, which help to strengthen its influence on the world stage. Although challenges remain in areas such as influence, governance, international relations and sustainability, Morocco is determined to continue to strengthen its position as an influential and respected nation in the world.
