Morocco attracts the attention of two new global investors in the field of lithium, strengthening its position in the sector of battery components for electric vehicles. Korean manufacturer Duksan Electera (DS Electera) and Singaporean multinational Visionary Energy recently entered into a significant agreement.
DS Electera, specializing in the production of secondary electrolytes and electrolyte additives, has signed an exclusive supply agreement with Visionary Energy, a company specializing in secondary battery materials such as lithium salt and lithium carbonate . This agreement concerns the supply of lithium salt to Morocco, a crucial raw material in the manufacture of electrolytes, a key element of batteries for electric vehicles.
According to information from the Korean press, this agreement also provides for the creation, by 2026, of a lithium salt factory in Morocco by Visionary Energy. This factory will have an annual production capacity exceeding 30,000 tonnes and will exclusively supply part of its production to DS Electera.
This strategic collaboration between DS Electera and Visionary Energy highlights Morocco’s growing appeal as an investment destination in the electric vehicle battery sector. The development of the lithium sector in the country is of significant importance, not only to boost the local industry, but also to meet the growing global demand for sustainable energy solutions.
