Morocco dominates Cameroon (35-28) and goes to the quarters

AWith this victory, Morocco qualified for the quarter-finals of this African competition, alongside Egypt, in a group that only includes three teams.

From the first half, the national team won by 18 to 14. It then continued to lead the game during the second half, to be able to win at the end with a 7-goal difference (35-28). ). Moroccan player Mehdi Alaoui was named man of the match.

The Moroccan selection is thus classified in second position of group A with two points, behind Egypt which has the advantage of the goals, while Cameroon which occupies the bottom of the classification was beaten by the Egyptian selection (40-17) and disqualified. Morocco will play their second match against Egypt on Wednesday to determine who will take the lead.

In other matches which also took place on Tuesday, Guinea beat Algeria 28-22 as part of Group B. Although the first half ended with the Algerian team leading 14-10, the Guinean players came back strong during the second half and won with a 6-goal difference.

With this victory, Guinea qualified for the quarter-finals, while Algeria finished second without points, with a goal difference compared to the Gabonese team in third position.

In Group D, Angola beat Senegal (32-25) and the Democratic Republic of Congo dominated Zambia (43-24).

The teams that take the top five places in the competition will qualify for the 2023 Handball World Cup, to be held in Poland and Sweden next January.
