Today, Tuesday, October 29, 2024, in Rabat, several agreements were signed between Moroccan and French institutions and companies belonging to the public and private sectors, with the aim of strengthening the partnership between Morocco and France in various sectors.
These agreements, which were signed within the framework of the Morocco-France Entrepreneurship Meeting, reflect the shared ambition of the two countries to continue strengthening their strong partnership in strategic areas with sustainable and future-oriented cooperation.
The institutional agreements include a protocol of agreement between the Moroccan Capital Market Authority and the Financial Markets Authority, a letter of intent regarding a loan of 25 million euros from the French Development Agency for the Guelmim-Oued Noun region in order to finance its regional development plan, and another letter of intent regarding support of 100 million euros from the French Agency. For the development of the Casablanca-Settat region development plan, in preparation for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
It also concerns a partnership between Bpifrance Bank and Attijariwafa Bank, and a cooperation agreement between the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Morocco and Bank of Africa in order to develop French investments in Morocco and Africa.
At the private sector level, this concerns a protocol of understanding between (Suez) and (Safari) in order to market products and solutions directed to regional multi-service companies, a declaration of intent between (Thalès Alenia Space) and (Panafsat) in order to provide a communications satellite, and a cooperation agreement between (MGH Energy) and “Petrom” to produce electronic fuel in the Dakhla region, and a protocol of agreement for a joint project between (XXII) and (ABA Technology) for sustainable development in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
It also concerns the extension of the first partnership between the Hydrogen Task Force (MEDEF International) and (Cluster Green H2), and a partnership agreement between (Electriciens Sans Frontières) and (Morocco Future Energy Leaders) for the access of vulnerable populations to electricity, as well as a protocol Agreement for a digital model solution for water management between Aquasys and the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water.
These agreements also include a protocol of agreement to establish a regional technical center for the development of oilseed production in Morocco between (Avril), (Agropol) and the Interprofessional Federation for Oilseeds, and a protocol of a framework agreement for international cooperation between (Inter céréales) and (Arvalis), the Sharif Academy of Phosphates and the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University. This also relates to a framework agreement for the development of educational professions between Mohammed VI Polytechnic University and the International School and University Office, and the access (InnovX), a branch of the Royal Phosphate Complex, to the capital of the French start-up company (NetZero), which specializes in biochar (biomass used to store carbon). It embodies the two countries’ commitment to strategic and innovative cooperation.
It should be noted that this meeting, organized by the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises in partnership with the French Entrepreneurship Movement (MEDEF), through the Club of French-Moroccan Entrepreneurs, is of particular importance in the context of the state visit carried out by the President of the French Republic, His Excellency Mr. Emmanuel Macron, by invitation. A generous gift from His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which embodies the consolidation of historical bilateral ties and the anticipation of a common, ambitious and bold future.
