Moroccan Mouhcine Outalha wins the Ooredoo marathon

Moroccan athlete Mouhcine Outalha won the Doha Ooredoo Marathon, setting a new race record. The Moroccan athlete won this race, organized by the telecommunications company Ooredoo in cooperation with the Qatar Athletics Federation, completing the 42 km in 02:06.00, ahead of Kenyan and Ethiopian runners.

In a statement to the press, Mouhcine Outalha expressed his joy at having won first place in the marathon, stressing that the competition was not easy, given the quality of the participants, having helped him achieve a new record. . He stressed that he focused a lot on winning and had set a particular pace for himself in the different stages of the race, adding that his tactics were crowned with this victory.

Among the women, Ethiopia’s Belet Mozret came out on top, setting a new marathon record in her category B, with a time of 02:20.45.

In order to promote the culture of sport in general and athletics in particular, the organizing committee of the marathon has also initiated half-marathon races (men and women), in addition to a 10 kilometer race and a another 5 kilometer, as well as events dedicated to children. The races were framed and supervised by referees and technicians from the Qatar Athletics Federation, in addition to timekeepers who calculate the time of each competitor according to the standards adopted by the International Gaming Federation.
