Morocco’s leadership in terms of energy and food security was highlighted at a fair dedicated to the food industry, held recently in Naples.
“Under the impetus of HM King Mohammed VI, Morocco is working tirelessly to strengthen food and energy sovereignty at the national and regional levels,” said international expert in economic diplomacy and sovereignty, Amine Laghidi, who expressed during this event, which was marked by the presence of the Italian Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio.
The expert, quoted by a press release from the agricultural sector of the Italian Confederation Coldiretti, highlighted the efforts made by the Kingdom in the energy field and its commitment to Africa and the Mediterranean, evoking, in this sense, the Morocco-Nigeria gas pipeline project which “will help position the Kingdom as a hub between the southern shore of the Mediterranean and African energy-exporting countries”.
“Determined and ambitious, Morocco now wants to be a locomotive of development in Africa and in the region, rising as a real economic pole”, indicated Mr. Laghidi, noting that the “Kingdom is full of enormous investment opportunities in various fields that may arouse the interest of Italian companies”.
The expert also highlighted the favorable business climate in the Kingdom, a “haven of stability and peace”, and the major political and economic reforms undertaken in recent years and which make Morocco a platform solicited by foreign investment.
Furthermore, the expert stressed the importance of food and energy security, given the threat of supply chain shortages and the growing risk of famine in many regions of the world, highlighting the role of agriculture and fishing in maintaining jobs and preserving the stability and food sovereignty of nations.
A strong Moroccan delegation of businessmen, investors and leaders in the sectors of agriculture, distribution, food industry, logistics, transport, navigation, events and Tourism took part in this Mediterranean event.
