The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, through the Central Crisis Cell, as well as the Moroccan consular services in the Spanish regions affected by the floods, are mobilizing to provide assistance to Moroccans residing in the regions affected by this natural disaster that swept southeastern Spain.

Crisis cells were created for this purpose at the level of the Kingdom’s consulates general in Valencia, Madrid and Seville, charged with following up on all cases that require assistance.

In coordination with the crisis cell created in the ministry, the consular services in the areas affected by the floods, which left at least 95 people dead, are working diligently to provide assistance and verify whether there are Moroccan victims.

The Central Crisis Cell has allocated phone numbers to inquire about any missing person, or loss of contact with a family member: the green numbers of the Consular Contact Center (0800009948/49/50).

The Consulate General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Valencia, the area most affected by the floods, has also allocated emergency numbers (+0034631935818/+0034631711873) to enable Moroccan citizens to know the status of their relatives.

The Kingdom’s Consulates General remain in contact with the Spanish central and local authorities and with the Moroccan collective fabric in order to obtain all information about the situation of Moroccans in these regions, noting that, so far, one death of a Moroccan national has been recorded.
