(Agence Ecofin) – As Morocco generalizes the deployment of its national health insurance system, the group specializing in the treatment of cancer plans to invest 300 million dollars in the construction of new clinics, in particular in cities served.
The Moroccan operator of private clinics Oncorad announced, Thursday, May 11, the entry of two investment funds in its round of funding up to 458 million dirhams (45.5 million dollars), while indicating that it plans to list on the Casablanca Stock Exchange within three years to finance its expansion plan.
The group specializing in the treatment of cancer has signed an agreement with the French impact fund STOA and the Moroccan private equity leader CDG Invest Growth for a cumulative investment of 458 million dirhams. These funds will mainly be used to build new clinics, especially in underserved towns such as Safi, El Jadida and Bouskoura.
In a statement given to Archyde.comon the sidelines of the signing ceremony of the agreement, the CEO of Oncorad, Redouane Semlali, also revealed that the group plans to join the stock market within three years.

- Semlali also clarified that the Oncorad group plans to invest 3 billion dirhams (300 million dollars) in the construction of new clinics by 2026.
« The private sector will help ease the burden on public hospitals, as demand for health care is expected to increase with the spread of health insurance he said, indicating that nearly 80% of Moroccan private clinics are currently concentrated in the cities of Rabat and Casablanca.
