Deputy Yeidckol Polevnsky requested a license from Congress, which was granted as of June 17, in order to join the officials who will seek the presidential candidacy for Morena, that is, the so-called “corcholatas.”

The legislator said that she made this decision because her co-religionists proposed it to her and she feels obliged to comply with them.

“Many fellow deputies and militants have asked me like this and I think it is an obligation. I want to participate in this work to achieve the position of coordinator of the Defense of the Transformation. I am the founder of Morena, I have walked alongside the president, I know the project. For this reason, because I know the project, it is because I am determined to work to get out in these two months ”, he declared.

The Permanent Commission of the Congress of the Union also granted a license to legislators Ricardo Monreal, Gerardo Fernández Noroña and Manuel Velasco to separate from their legislative activities indefinitely, since the three will seek the presidential candidacy for Morena, PT, PVEM.

In session, they first fired Ricardo Monreal, who is still coordinator of the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo), since his license is effective Friday, June 16.

It was an honor to preside over Jucopo and coordinate my parliamentary group, (it was) an experience that I will never forget. Thank you to the senators and deputies for sharing responsibility in this historic stage that the country is experiencing,” said Monreal. At the end of his message, a mariachi came to the session room to fire the morenista.

Meanwhile, the deputy Gerardo Fernández Noroña pointed out that he is going to a process in which he is at a disadvantage but that “the children of the people” have always experienced discrimination and know how to make their way.

“I just came to say goodbye. I come to this rostrum to speak for the last time in my capacity as representative of the Nation (…) I know that I am going to a process in adversity, I know that I am going to a process at a disadvantage. It is always like this for the children of the town, it has never been different, we always experience discrimination, we live underestimated, that the path is closed to us, and the children of the town know that we have to open up firmly,” said the legislator for the Pt.

Fernández Noroña also regretted that the internal contest of Morena to seek the candidacy does not include the debates, also that he will go to the media that invite him, although the party asked them not to go to forums that he described as “conservative”.

Officials who want to be candidates must register before June 16, following resigning from their public positions, while from June 19 to August 27, candidates from Morena, PT, and PVEM may campaign to promote themselves for the position of coordinator of the Defense of the Fourth Transformation of Morena, who when the legal times indicate it will become a presidential candidate.
