More than eighty works are eligible for the 13th edition of the Carles Rahola Awards

The 13th edition of the Carles Rahola Awards of Local Communication, organized by the Girona Provincial Council and the College of Journalists, have received 85 works in all seven categories. Although participation has been lower than last year, the figures remain at the top of the average of the awards, endowed with 8,000 euros, and place the next edition as seventh in number of works and the sixth in number of participants. The category that has registered the most participation has been that of press photography, with 42 works presented by 15 professionals. It is followed by the press category: 26 works by 28 journalists. Thirdly, the prize that has registered the most works is the best digital information, with five proposals submitted by twenty participants. At the Miquel Diumé Award Four programs are chosen for the best work in radio, carried out by six people, while in the category of journalistic communication project three works have been presented, prepared by seven participants. There are also three works, presented by three people, who choose to be the best in television, and two aspirants in the category of institutional communication.

The Carles Rahola Local Communication Awards aim to recognize the work of the journalistic profession in the Girona region and to encourage informative creativity in any format, field and structure. All categories are endowed with 1,000 euros, except the prize for the best journalistic communication project, which has an endowment of 2,000 euros. The 8th Scholarship of the Carles Rahola Awards, convened by theGirona City Council with the collaboration of the Demarcation of Girona of the Association of Journalists and the Diputació de Girona, endowed with 3,000 euros, wants to promote research on the history of journalism in the Girona region, and is aimed, in alternate years, at collegiate journalists and university students. This edition is aimed at professionals, and three nominations have been submitted. The names of the winners and the scholarship will be announced at the awards ceremony, which will take place on February 24 at theAuditors of Girona.
