“Venezuela has been visited by more than 140 great influencers so far this year,” he highlighted.

Deepening tourism

He recalled that it was Commander Hugo Chávez who created a portfolio dedicated exclusively to tourism, as he was aware of the importance of this sector for the country.

“Here before there was no Ministry of Tourism, tourism was not part of the country’s development approach, here it was an economy with an oil rentier vision, people were encouraged to travel abroad. Now tourism in Venezuela is encouraged,” she stressed, quoted by La Iguana.

In this regard, he assured that President Nicolás Maduro is advancing a national strategy to promote “the concept of a society that has tourism as one of its main elements of development, inclusion, with a sustainable vision.”
