Asunción, IP Agency.- More than 100 families from several localities in the Caazapá department received their property titles, joining the 850 beneficiaries of the third round of mass delivery of titles conducted until this Sunday by the National Institute for Rural and Land Development (Indert).

The beneficiaries of the titles handed over are small rural owners from the colonies Emilianoré and Oro Ku’i, Abaí and Agricultural Union, 3 de Mayo, Caazapá department.

One of the beneficiaries, Epifanía Cáceres de López, pointed out that she feels happy to receive her property title, because she has been waiting for this moment for many years. «I am surprised, and I thank the president of Indert. Finally we can say that the land is ours.

In turn, Alberto Ortíz expressed that the property title makes peasant families owners.

The president of Indert, Francisco Ruiz Díaz, highlighted that in eight months of management the institution is already delivering some 4,000 titles, which far exceeds the average of 927 titles per year delivered by previous administrations.

The president of Indert said that “the government seeks to convert peasant families from precarious occupants to owners of their lots, in order to provide legal security to the countryside.”

The ceremony was attended by more than the head of Indert, Deputy Dávalos; the governor of Caazapá, Cristhian Acosta; Councilwoman Dolly Carvallo, representing the mayor of Abaí, as well as about 200 residents.
