More than a hundred facilitators and directors are trained to provide services for Open Schools

Asuncion, IP Agency.- Directors and facilitators from Guairá, Alto Paraná, Caazapá and Caaguazú participated in the training for the care and development of the Open Schools “Vy’a Renda” strategy of the Ministry of Education and Science (MEC) within the framework of axis 1 of prevention of the consumption of psychoactive substances of the SUMAR plan.

A total of 102 facilitators and directors participated in the educational day, which was held at the Félix de Guarania High Performance Educational Center, in the Caaguazú district, in the fifth department.

The training calendar is in charge of the General Directorate of Inclusive Education of the MEC and Special Olympics Paraguay. It will continue this Saturday, July 20, in Asunción; and on Saturday, July 27, in Misiones.

Previously, 60 participants attended the Carlos Antonio López Elementary School No. 32, in San Estanislao, San Pedro; where teachers from the second department, Concepción, Canindeyú and Amambay also attended.

In this way, MEC and Special Olympics organized a series of educational sessions in various parts of the country, for the people who will be in charge of implementing the Open Schools project “Vy’a Renda”.

This project will benefit 800 facilitators and directors and will reach 30,000 students between 5 and 18 years of age in the initial level, Basic School Education, Third Cycle and Secondary Education.

In the 200 educational institutions, focused throughout the country, sports, recreational, artistic, literacy, science and robotics activities are developed.

Furthermore, this initiative contributes to generating a favorable context and climate for the prevention of psychoactive substance use in the community.

The project aims to guarantee access to educational opportunities, encourage participation and promote healthy living skills and the prevention of substance abuse through the development of sports, art, science, robotics and literacy skills.

The “Vy’a Renda” Open Schools are a strategy within the prevention axis of the SUMAR Action Plan that unites other Paraguayan State institutions through work to promote the development of a community that fosters the health and well-being of its members. It takes place every Saturday and will continue until December of this year.

The SUMAR Plan is a joint effort by the Government of Paraguay to prevent, rehabilitate and combat the problem of drug abuse in the country.
