More than 9.8 million passengers at the end of July 2022 – mafrique

Morocco’s airports recorded at the end of July 2022, a commercial traffic volume of 9,813,316 passengers through 89,648 airport movements for all airports, according to the National Airports Office (ONDA).

At the end of July, the Kingdom’s airports thus continued to show largely positive recovery rates compared to the same period of 2019, welcoming 70% of passengers and 75% of airport movements, indicates the Office in a press release, relayed by the MAP agency.

Regarding cumulative air traffic during the first seven months of 2022, Casablanca Mohammed V airport welcomed 3,699,215 passengers via 34,742 flights, i.e. recovery rates of around 64% and 67% respectively.

During the month of July 2022, most airports reached or even exceeded the volume of air passenger traffic recorded during the same period of 2019.

According to the Office, the recovery is consolidated during the first seven months for the airports of the North and Oriental regions which recorded recovery rates greater than or equal to 100% compared to the same period of 2019 (Tétouan: 378%, Oujda: 111%, Nador: 101%, Tangier: 95%).

For cumulative international traffic during the first seven months of 2022, the Kingdom’s airports welcomed 8,703,885 passengers, i.e. a recovery rate of 70% compared to the same period of 2019.

During the month of July, international air traffic recorded 2,142,893 passengers, representing a recovery rate of around 101% compared to the same period of 2019.

The airports of the Kingdom recorded, during the month of July 2022, a volume of commercial traffic of 2,365,929 passengers and 18,912 flights, i.e. a recovery rate compared to the same period of the year 2019 of 98% for the passengers and 94% for airport movements, notes the Office.

For its part, air freight recorded during the month of July, a recovery rate of 68% compared to the same period of 2019. It stood at 5,323 tonnes.

For the cumulative freight from January to the end of July, it was displayed at 41,637 tonnes, representing a recovery rate of 74%.
