Seven hundred 73 producers from the municipalities of Gambos, Humpata, Chibia and Cacula, in the province of Huíla, had access to community credit, through the Ehole, Inclusion Productiva-Kwenda and Elavoko projects, developed by ADRA, in 2023, whose values varied between 20 thousand and 50 thousand kwanzas.
In total, 41 million, 588 thousand kwanzas were allocated in a phased and rotating manner, through 20 Community Funds established in the four municipalities, to strengthen the income of these families, according to ADRA–Huíla, Namibe, Anastácia Tchilete, project assistant.
Speaking yesterday, Thursday, to ANGOP in Lubango, the project assistant at ADRA–Huíla, Namibe, Anastácia Tchilete, highlighted that the action falls within the line of strengthening the economic capacity of families.
He detailed that in the municipality of Cacula, 474 producers benefited, Chibia 193, Gambos 81 and Humpata 45, mostly women, who applied the amounts in different areas of economic activities, whose amount of credit per producer varied depending on the request and their need. .
According to Anastasia Chilete, Caixa Comunitária works as a bank created by producer associations and cooperatives, with the aim of facilitating access to credit on a rotating basis, with interest of five percent of the amount requested following three or six months. .
He stated that producers have been able to honor their commitment and there are even some that have benefited from more than one financing.
He highlighted that, in the period under analysis, 338 heads of cattle were acquired and distributed, 50 cattle for animal traction and 288 goats for development, on a rotating basis, to the benefit of 288 families and nine agricultural cooperatives in the municipalities of Cacula and Chibia.
