More than 60 parliamentarians ask to hold a secret session in the face of a security crisis for the Aragua Train | National

A secret session in the Chamber of Deputies is what a group of more than 60 parliamentarians is asking for in the face of the security crisis due to the detection of members of the transnational criminal gang “Tren de Aragua”. If approved, this will be the third instance of this type since the return to democracy.

More than 60 parliamentarians requested that the Chamber of Deputies and Deputies perform a secret session due to the security crisis due to the presence of members of the criminal organization “Tren de Aragua”.

In the instance they would summon the Minister of the Interior, Izkia Siches, and her counterpart from the Treasury, Mario Marcel, directors of the police and the Internal Revenue Service, among other authorities.

According to information from Radio Bío Bío, the request has signatures from opposition parties and the PS.

Deputy Juan Manuel Fuenzalida (UDI) reported that “We are requesting a special session with a secret nature, given the content of the topic, which is ultimately how to focus from the National Congress and how to support the Government in the fight once morest organized crime.”

He indicated that this support would mean carrying out a series of initiatives that establish a set of rules to combat these gangs.

“It is an issue that we have to deal with globally and Congress cannot be left out of it, and It has to support the fight once morest organized crime because we are still on time”, added the deputy.

In the opinion of deputy Jaime Araya (PPD), the country’s democracy is threatened by organized crime and delinquency. For this reason, he described as “reasonable” that the Chamber of Deputies raise the possibility of holding a secretarial session to address the criminal phenomenon of the Aragua Train.

With the above, he added, they will be able to “anticipate what is happening in the country, it is not only in the north, but also in Valparaíso and Santiago. When one is faced with new criminal phenomena, the prudent thing is not to sweep it under the rug, it is not to say that those who talk regarding these issues are alarmist or sensationalist, but rather that we must do what corresponds, which is to exercise the power that we have” , hill.

The PC deputy, Luis Neck, assured that “The advance of criminal gangs such as the Tren de Aragua is worrying. It is important that we can examine the reality that is happening with this type of criminal organization and without a doubt we can be available to be able to hold sessions”.

Regarding its secret nature, he indicated that it should be evaluated according to the background that its disclosure might be sensitive.

After having all the necessary signatures, a vote must be held in the room where the support for the motion must be up to 2/3.

This would be the third time a secret session has been called since the return to democracy.
