More than 5,500 people applied for the 1,549 job vacancies offered at the Employment Expo

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The 2024 Employment Expo, organized this Wednesday by the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security (MTESS), with the support of the Rural Association of Paraguay (ARP) and the Paraguayan Industrial Union (UIP), called for more than 5,500 applications through the EmpleaPy platform and some 1,500 job interviews.

The job openings were aimed at covering 1,549 vacancies offered by 46 companies, mainly for the area of ​​Asunción and its surroundings. Despite the cold, from early hours, applicants of all ages gathered in the Germán Ruiz Hall of the ARP, adjacent to the Expo grounds, to conduct interviews with the Human Resources staff of companies interested in recruiting new talent.

The salaries for the positions offered ranged from 2,798,309 to 7,000,000 guaraníes. The vacancies included positions such as collections manager, construction supervisor, human resources administrator, industrial engineer, production supervisor, credit analyst, environmental manager, credit officer, women’s committee advisor, brand and sign inspector, maintenance operator, administrative assistant, merchandising stocker, telecollection, telesales, security guards, cashiers, drivers and bakers, among others. Participating companies included poultry industries, supermarkets, catering companies, technological solutions companies, pharmaceutical companies, bakeries, auto parts companies, veterinary diagnostic laboratories, real estate companies, security companies, cardboard industries, financial sector and metallurgical companies, to name a few sectors.

“Our goal with this activity is to make visible the job opportunities that exist in the country and to support ourselves in the use of technology to facilitate the intermediation between people seeking employment and companies interested in hiring personnel,” said the Vice Minister of Labor, César Segovia, at the official opening of the fair.

The vice president of the ARP, Mario Apodaca, congratulated the young people for their interest in finding a job and urged them to train themselves to improve their employability potential. “I wish everyone success, especially the young people who are looking for a job, and the companies that responded positively to offer employment opportunities in the national economy,” added Luis Fleitas, from the organization of the 41st edition of the Roque Alonso Expo.

The fair was also attended by the Minister of Youth, Salma Agüero, who reaffirmed her institution’s commitment to the MTESS so that the EmpleaPy platform gains greater impact among job seekers and companies. Also attending were the Vice Minister of Employment and Social Security, Verónica López, and the Public Relations Directors of the Expo, Alberto Sborovsky and Amado Rodríguez.
