New data has been created in the e-commerce market at an international level and by extension at a European and regional level from the ever-increasing influence of social media on consumer choices.

At the same time, in e-commerce, smart phone calling is gradually dominating as a search and shopping channel, a trend that is already dominating e-banking as well. Internationally, more than 5 billion citizens, according to data from the GSMA, have access to the internet via a smart phone, with the trends constantly increasing.

These new trends and the upward trend of e-commerce in Greece will be discussed during the Balkan eCommerce Summit organized on Thursday and Friday, April 4 and 5 in Sofia, Bulgaria, with the participation of 14 countries, a large number of businesses and electronic platforms. The exclusive representative of the conference in Greece is the company Generation Y.

89% of the traffic today in the online stores of the Balkan countries, as Nikola Ilchev, eCommerce Academy and Balkan eCommerce Summit Founder has mentioned, comes from social media, according to detailed data (research by Mediapost Hit Mail)

In this context, Digital Marketing will be at the center of the informative presentations of the conference to the participating companies, with the aim of leading them to adopt methods for a substantial increase in sales. Other interesting figures are that 44% of e-shopping consumers in Europe choose out-of-home delivery solutions, while only 68% of e-shopping consumers prioritize price in their purchasing decisions.

On the Greek side, speakers at the conference include Anastasios Spanidis, president of the GPA Business Group and founder of Generation Y, as well as Chryssa Faki, Head of Business Development of Generation Y, who will present the challenges faced by businesses in the e-commerce industry. Also Evi Boukorou-Georgouda, managing director of Generation Y.
