More than 48,000 companies created at the end of June, here is their distribution by sector, according to OMPIC

The entrepreneurial dynamic was confirmed during the first half of the year. No less than 48,001 companies were created in Morocco at the end of June 2022. Update on the most attractive sectors.

Nearly 48,001 companies were created during the first six months of 2022, according to the latest statistics from the barometer of the Moroccan Office for Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC), including 33,529 legal entity companies and 14,472 natural person companies.

By sector, trade encompasses most of the new creations with a total of 61.83%, followed by building and public works (BTP) and real estate activities (21.19%) and miscellaneous services (16.98%).

By legal form, 50.1% of new legal enterprises were created in the form of limited liability companies (SARL). Sole-shareholder limited liability companies (SARLAU) come in second place with a share of 43.6% once morest 5% for public limited companies.

The total number of legal entity companies created until 2022 in Morocco thus amounts to 802,971, while the total number of natural person companies created to date in Morocco has reached 1,227,081.

In total, the trade sector monopolizes nearly half of Moroccan companies (44.99%), followed by construction and real estate activities (15.42%), miscellaneous services (12.36%), industries ( 9.23%), transport (6.81%), hotels and restaurants (5.1%), the ICT sector (4%), agriculture and fishing (1.4) and financial activities (0.69%).

In terms of cancellations, the Office has identified 3,787 since the beginning of the year. In all, 32.8% of these deregistered companies are in the Casablanca-Settat region, 16.6% in Marrakech-Safi, 14.7% in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 9.9% in Fès-Meknes and 9.8% in Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima.

By sector, most of the companies that ceased their activity operated in the trade sector (31.3%), followed by services (21.3%), construction and real estate activities (21.2%), l industry (7%), transport (6.7%).
