This Friday (17/11), in China, a conference of the Xiaomi regarding smart devices for home and ecology. During the event, data was revealed regarding the profile of users of these accessories manufactured by the Chinese company — which showed something quite curious.
According to Gizmochina, iPhone and iPad users represent more than 40% of the total number of people who use smart home accessories from the Chinese brand. Of the people with Apple devices who use Xiaomi home devices, 45% have more than 5 different accessories.
According to Xiaomi, the total number of the company’s devices in use is 655 million and there are more than 13 million users who have more than five devices. In other words, the owners of around 10% of devices with the Chinese manufacturer’s so-called “internet of things” have five or more devices.
Another data reported was the number of monthly active users of the Mijia App (Mi Home, in the West), used to control the company’s connected home devices: 82.9 million. We can imagine that most of them use iOS/iPadOS, given the large number of users of devices that do so.
It is worth noting that this type of scenario is not so uncommon when it comes to companies that produce smartphones and other types of devices. Nothing’s headphones, for example, also have more iPhone users than the company’s own smartphones, which may indicate interesting behavior patterns regarding owners of Apple devices.
Are you one of those who have a Xiaomi connected home device and an iPhone?
