A spectacular burglary at a bank in the Feldkirchen district has been keeping the police and judiciary busy for two years: On the night of June 21, 2020, over 300 lockers in the foyer of the bank were broken into and cleared out. “There is still no trace of the perpetrators,” says Dominik Sodamin, spokesman for the Carinthian state police department. The State Criminal Police Office assumes a professional gang. One of the victims is a pensioner. “The man had gold ducats worth 89,000 euros in his safe deposit box,” says Gernot Kugi, spokesman for the regional court in Klagenfurt. After the bank refused to pay damages, the pensioner sued. The civil trial took place recently. The responsible judge in the locker case is Daniel Überbacher, head of a civil court department at the regional court.
