More than 30 heads of state and government will attend Lula’s inauguration – news

More than 30 heads of state and government will attend the inauguration ceremony of the president-elect of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, this Sunday, 1st, in Brasília. As per the Kianda’s mail previously published, João Lourenço, has already confirmed his presence, due to travel on Saturday, 31.

According to the organizers of the inauguration of the Brazilian president, in all, around 120 countries will be represented at the event, with authorities from all levels.

Lula’s inauguration is shrouded in threats of protests from the voters of Jair Bolsonaro, the current president, who will leave office on December 31, without equaling the feat of all Brazilian presidents who have run for re-election since the opening of that possibility, in 1997, during the Fernando Henrique Cardoso government.

As published in this newspaper, police and the government transition team responsible for the security of the graduated president of Brazil are reassessing the security procedures for the inauguration ceremony and consider that Lula does not parade in an open car, but in an armored vehicle.

Concern for Lula’s safety increased after the case of “Bolsonarist terrorists” George Washington and Alan Diego dos Santos Rodrigues, who planned to blow up a tanker truck loaded with fuel near Brasília Airport. According to George Washington, the purpose of the attack was to start “chaos”, with a view to preventing Lula from taking office. However, local police raised the number of suspects involved in the attempted attack to six.

Affiliated to the Workers’ Party (PT), the former trade unionist and former metalworker, Lula da Silva, since 2003, when he assumed the presidency for the first time, has accumulated approximately 300 national and international decorations.
