The opening of national borders has allowed, in the last three months, the considerable entry of tourists. Portuguese, Chinese, French, Brazilian, Indian, American, Dutch, German and Belgian citizens are the ones who most enter without a visa, as tourists.
In light of Presidential Decree nº. 189/23, of 29 September, the legal regime for exemption and simplification of procedures for granting tourist visas was established. In view of this, data from the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) indicate that, in the period from 29 September to 26 December/23, 26,506 citizens entered the country and 24,511 left, within the scope of the aforementioned diploma.
According to the SME Communications Director, Domingas Mendonça, “the aforementioned data is constantly updated, depending on daily exit and entry flows. It should also be noted that the above data only refers to the statistics of citizens who entered the scope of the tourist visa exemption, the purpose of which is business prospecting, family visits and tourism”, she clarified.
It states that the citizens who most seek Angola are of Portuguese, Chinese, French, Brazilian, Indian, American, Dutch, German and Belgian nationalities. Domingas Mendonça explains that it is important to understand that the tourist visa is the stamp with a sticker on the citizen’s passport, which the State, through the SME, authorizes entry into national territory, for the purposes set out in the law, while tourism as such, It has to do with the set of universally defined activities, in which other sectors compete.
