The largest Upper Austrian cup competition for elementary schools took place for the tenth time in the last week of school in the Klaus Roitinger Stadium in Ried.
“More than 240 students from 20 elementary schools in the district, with 24 teams, were very enthusiastic and had fun,” says organizer Gerald Hartl from “Schule am Ball”. Not only was there a lot going on on the green lawn, hundreds of schoolmates who had traveled with them cheered on their classmates from the stands with self-made banners and songs. In the semifinals, VS Eberschwang defeated VS Mehrnbach in a penalty shoot-out. VS Ried 1 won the second semi-final once morest VS Pattigham-Pramet.
In the final, Rieder had a narrow 2-1 lead once morest Eberschwang. The match for third place was won by VS Mehrnbach.
Several SV Ried players also came by and wrote numerous autographs for the young players.
