The General Tax Administration launched a campaign to uncover the hidden and undeclared wealth owned by a number of public employees, affiliated with liberal professions, such as engineers, doctors, notaries, lawyers, experts, and other obligated people.

According to informed sources, the initial list included in the research includes 2,500 targeted people, who deliberately do not declare their real income, in order to hide their wealth, which is often recorded in the names of their adult and minor children, their wives, and their relatives.

The same sources added that the failure to engage in the policy of voluntary settlement of the tax status of those subject to tax, which was adopted by the state, prompted the activation of the monitoring mechanism to impose the application of the tax law on everyone, and to subject hidden wealth, money, and property to forced collection.

The same sources confirmed that the surveillance services in charge of researching and tracking the traces of property and money use various technical and informational means, and also coordinate with various departments related to the data of the targets, their family members, and relatives, who are suspected of having acquired property with the aim of hiding it or camouflaging the surveillance services to keep them away from the eyes of taxes and evasion. from paying their dues.

In addition, the General Administration of Taxes is coordinating with various actors, such as the General Directorate of National Security, the National Agency for Real Estate Conservation, and the Bank of Morocco, to open thousands of bank accounts. According to the aforementioned sources, this process aims to enhance tax resources and combat tax evasion and evasion.
