Asunción, IP Agency.- The Financial Development Agency (AFD) granted credits for more than USD 500 million to the agricultural and livestock sector of Chaco, which generated more than 2,000 new jobs in the region.
This was reported by the head of the entity, Stella Guillén, within the framework of her participation in the opening ceremony of Expo Neuland 2024, one of the largest fairs in the productive sector in Paraguay.
The official highlighted that Chaco is growing and developing and that she visited this Friday and Saturday “to continue learning regarding its needs and discussing, together, new forms of development.” She explained that AFD is a development bank, which not only focuses on housing, but also on production.
In this context, he held a strategic meeting with the directors of the Neuland Cooperative to outline joint actions, strengthening alliance ties so that in 2024 the bank more strongly supports the growth of the productive sector.
In mid-April, AFD had announced the reduction of its interest rates, granted to Intermediary Financial Institutions (IFIs) for several of its credit products.
The main reductions occurred in products destined for investment projects, MSMEs, loans for women and for higher education, with the aim of promoting access to credit and stimulating investments in the country.
