More than 200 workers were rescued in a smoke-filled coal mine

More than 200 workers, 229 in all, were evacuated from a coal mine in southern Russia today.

It is noted that the coal mine was filled with smoke, according to a local official, who added that there were no casualties.

It is unclear what caused the incident, which took place nearly 200 meters underground at the Obukhovskaya mine in the city of Zverevo.
