LH Mikl-Leitner: With competence, commitment, lifeblood and love for the people in action every day

St.Pölten (OTS) More than 200 police officers were sworn in and dismissed today, Friday, on Wiener Neustadt’s main square in the presence of Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner, Federal Police Director Michael Takacs, State Police Director Franz Popp, Mayor Klaus Schneeberger and many guests of honor.

The provincial governor spoke of a happy day for all of Lower Austria and took the ceremony as an opportunity to say “thank you to every single police officer” who “delivers top performance with incredible competence, commitment, passion and love for the people,” says Mikl – Leitner. On a day like this, you can feel that the entire security family of Lower Austria stands together and sticks together, “and today you all become an important part of this security family,” said the governor.

She particularly emphasized the “up-to-date training”: “You all have learned a lot of theory, practice and psychological knowledge during your training and know how to act correctly in extreme situations.” And just like the police officers, they are reliable partners are for the Lower Austrian population, “so the police can continue to rely on the country.” Neustadt, which is currently being built, or the operational training centers in St. Pölten, Traiskirchen or Suessenbrunn.”

Federal Police Director Michael Takacs gave the warmest congratulations and greetings from Federal Minister of the Interior Gerhard Karner to those who had been hired and retired and then underlined: “The police family in Lower Austria is very stable and secure.” Lower Austria is one of the safest federal states, there is a great deal of cooperation with the population , in the safety design with the other blue light organizations and above all, according to Takacs, “we experience enormous support from the state government”.

Provincial Police Director Franz Popp especially thanked the security academies and the educational centers in St. Pölten, Traiskirchen and Ybbs an der Donau, which are established in Lower Austria, “which guarantee training at the highest European level and prepare our colleagues for their challenging, difficult and dangerous profession.” Popp also particularly thanked the families and friends of the police officers “for supporting the choice of career and for always being there, even if they have to spend a lot of time alone when we are on night shifts, weekend shifts and also on public holidays around the o’clock, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to ensure the safety of the people in the country.”

Mayor Klaus Schneeberger described Wiener Neustadt as “the security capital of the state of Lower Austria.” It not only houses the oldest military academy in the world, but also has a great appearance in the police department. “I’m thinking of the Cobra task force since 1992, and of the Wiener Neustadt University of Applied Sciences, which offers courses and courses for officer training,” said Schneeberger, and last but not least he mentioned the flight control center that is currently being built and will open in spring 2024. State chaplain Gerald Gruber carried out the blessing at the end. Today’s swearing-in ceremony and decommissioning were musically accompanied by the Police Band of Lower Austria.
