The National Police (PN) recorded, in the last 24 hours, the occurrence of 21 deaths in the country. The data was advanced this Sunday, the 25th, by the spokesman for Operation Natal Seguro, Orlando Bernardo.
According to Commissioner Orlando Bernardo, senior officer of the National Police, who was speaking to journalists as part of the assessment of the public safety situation in Natal, he detailed that 10 homicides were recorded, eight deaths due to road accidents, one due to presumed drowning (in Cacimba). and two suicides by hanging.
The director of Public Safety and Operations, added that the corporation carried out seven thousand three hundred and twenty-eight (7,328) patrols, of which 652 were self-guided, two thousand, one-hundred and seven (2,107) were on foot, 497 were motorized and 552 were low-visibility.
The data indicate a coverage of one hundred and forty-one (141) criminal outbreaks, one hundred and seventy-six (176) police barriers on the roads, two thousand and nine hundred and twenty (2,920) stoppages of vehicles, motorcycles and passers-by, seven (7 ) compliance with arrest warrants for certain criminals.
Orlando Bernardo explained that they also insured 461 churches, 391 taxi stops, 263 meeting places, 13 musical shows, 238 hospital units, 311 banking institutions and surroundings and 45 beaches.
Of the actions carried out, it was possible to detain 299 citizens for common crimes, 39 in flagrante delicto, 44 for arrest warrants, 56 in investigative sequences, 12 foreign citizens in an irregular migratory situation and 148 for violation of the border.
In the same context, four groups of criminals were dismantled in the provinces of Zaire (2), Luanda and Cuando Cubango (1) each, and 11 firearms were seized in Luanda (04), Cuanza Norte (06) and Huambo ( 01).
Likewise, five vehicles were seized for violating the Highway Code, three of which in Cunene, one in Bié and Cuanza Norte, and 103 motorcycles in the provinces of Cuanza Norte (35), Bié (27), Zaire (21), Cabinda (6), Lunda Norte (6), Cuando Cubango (4), Moxico (3) and Huambo (1).
In the period from the 24th to the 25th of December of the current year, 22 thousand and 882 personnel were employed in ostensive patrolling and ensuring religious and festive activities.
Despite the numbers, Orlando Bernardo said that the public security situation in the country is stable, as the defense and security forces ensured the celebration of the Christmas Supper in an atmosphere of peace and social harmony.
