“This year’s balance has been positive, we are doing two monthly castration days, one exclusively for cats and the other mixed (cats and dogs), with an average of 130 animals per month,” said “Nany”, while Palomeque said that “this is part of the public policies that the municipality has been carrying out for more than 20 years”, adding that “within this public policy is the campaign of vaccination and deworming of non-human animals (dogs and cats), which we are also doing once a month in each neighborhood, along with the El Municipio en Tu Barrio program.”
“This year we can say that we have very good results: 22 training days (every fortnight once a month), we are sure that we will comfortably pass the 1,000 castrated and vaccinated non-human companion animals… Meanwhile, vaccination and deworming ( this 2022 is the first time that it is made complete) we are around 500 animals. We are talking regarding more than 1,500 non-human companion animals assisted by the municipal service that is part of the municipal animal health, welfare and dignity program, therefore we are very happy”, remarked Palomeque, thanking “Nany, as part of the entity Reserva Canina, to the entire Feline Adoptions team, to the entire team that is being formed (thanks to what we have done in education, we had to stop the animal welfare congress in a pandemic but it will resume in 2023), since as we continue in the schools, new volunteers have joined this program. Also to Mayor Fissore and the Secretary of Finance, because these are results of public policies and the generation of budget items put at the service of the community”.
SHIFTS FOR FEBRUARY
Finally, Balbo pointed out that “we are already giving castration shifts for the month of February, therefore, we ask people to come and reserve their turn to the Playón del Ferrocarril entering through the platform, where they will attend them and direct them to the office to grant them the corresponding turn.
