More than 1,000 flights were canceled and many delayed in the US on January 31 and this number is expected to increase in the coming days as Texas and neighboring states suffer. snow storm and cold weather.

Follow tracking service flight FlightAware, nearly 350 flights at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and more than 200 flights at Dallas Love Field Airport have been cancelled.

Southwest Airlines canceled more than 500 flights, or regarding 12% of the entire flight schedule, while the airline American Airlines canceled regarding 200 trips.

The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for parts of northern Texas since January 31.

Frost covered some roads following snowfall and freezing. The highest temperature is forecast to remain at -1.1 degrees Celsius until February 3.

Outside of Texas, the agency forecasts ice might accumulate in the neighboring states of Arkansas and Oklahoma, extending into parts of the American South and Midwest this week.

Schools in three states of Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas are expected to close or switch to online learning on February 1.
