Police mightn’t secure a cell phone, but “indirectly confirmed” through investigation
Police are investigating a report that a male high school student in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, illegally filmed the bodies of female students of the same age for a long period of time.
The Ilsan Eastern Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 28th that they had booked a group A, a sophomore from a high school in Goyang City, without detention on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases concerning the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (photographing using cameras, etc.) without detention.
According to the police, Army A is accused of illegally filming the body of an unspecified number of female students of the same age at school, academy, and on the street with his cell phone for regarding two years from 2020.
According to the police, only three victims were identified following receiving a report from the school, and more than 100 illegally filmed photos were investigated indirectly.
However, before the police investigation, Army A threw away the cell phone used for illegal filming, so the police might not confiscate it.
The police have summoned and investigated Army A once, and are planning to call the victim students later to check the facts and identify additional victims.
