Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Government made official the announcement of the paving of 100 blocks in the department of Guairá, works that will be financed with resources from Itaipu Binacional.
“If there are no setbacks, these works will be inaugurated by the end of the year and will undoubtedly benefit the inhabitants of the department of Guairá, boosting economic opportunities in the region,” said the Paraguayan general director of Itaipu, Justo Zacarías Irún.
The Guairá Governorate will be in charge of defining the projects and districts that will benefit from the new road infrastructure, Zacarías Irún clarified.
The announcement was made this Friday during a government meeting held by the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, together with members of his Cabinet, in the department of Guairá.
During his visit to the fourth department, the president delivered social housing and made contributions, through a series of institutions, to benefit families in the area.
