More rumors suggest the “iPhone 15 Pro Max” will be delayed and more expensive

The next line of iPhones it’s not (theoretically) far away, so the rumors are buzzing. Among the various speculations that have been released so far, two are receiving more emphasis this week.

The first is the possibility that the next most expensive model — the “iPhone 15 Pro Max” or even “iPhone 15 Ultra” — will face delays due to a failure of the Sony in providing the necessary image sensor component for the new periscope lens.

According to information from 9to5Macthis possible delay in supplying the component will result in a delay in the expected date for availability of the model, which should only reach the shelves in October. Taking into account that your presentation could take place on September 12th or 13th, this could represent a delay of 3 to 4 weeks.

It is worth noting that this is the second time that rumors point to problems in the supply chain which may result in delays in the availability of the “iPhone 15” line. This time, however, only the most expensive model was cited in these predictions.

More expensive top-of-the-line models?

Speaking of a more expensive model, another possibility that was reaffirmed today is that the prices of the “iPhones 15 Pro/15 Pro Max” will be at least $100 greater than those of their predecessors, according to information from DigiTimes. It is worth noting that other sources have already bet on increases of up to US$200 in prices.

In this sense, while the iPhone 14 Pro is sold in the United States starting at US$1,000 and the iPhone 14 Pro‌ Max, starting at US$1,100, the forecast for DigiTimes puts the price of the ‌”iPhone 15 Pro‌” between US$1.100 e US$1.200; the ‌”iPhone 15 Pro‌ Max” would be among US$1.200 e US$1.300.

As pointed out by MacRumorsthe possible price increase could suppress sales of the new, more expensive models, a scenario that could be aggravated by the recession in the US smartphone market, the largest in Apple.

Whether all this will come to fruition, however, only time will tell…

iPhones 14 Pro e 14 Pro Max
