Amid speculation about the next line of iPhoneswhich will be presented at a special event next Tuesday (12/9), several rumors have focused especially on the most expensive model of all, the “iPhone 15 Pro Max”.
The reason behind this is that the “iPhone 15 Pro Max” is expected to accumulate the largest number of new features, including some that will distance it even further from its smaller “brother”, the “iPhone 15 Pro” — which will result in a possible increase in model value.
Now, the people at TrendForce reinforced this possibility in a new analysis, but eliminated any chance of the “iPhone 15 Pro” also suffering a price increase. Therefore, they said that the “iPhone 15 Pro Max” will cost US$100 more expensive (from US$1,200), contradicting other predictions that suggested both top-of-the-line models will see a price increase this year.
Despite this supposed increase, the firm’s forecasts are that sales of the “iPhone 15 Pro Max” will represent 40% of all purchases of this year’s devices, something that will be driven by this model’s exclusive periscope lens.
The firm also responded to the rumor that pointed to an increase in the amount of minimum internal storage of the “iPhones 15 Pro/15 Pro Max”, saying that the top-of-the-line models will still start from the same 128GB of space on the current line and can reach a maximum of 1TB — which also contradicts the same previous rumor that said that the next models could have up to 2TB of space.
Finally, TrendForce also stated that the “iPhones 15 Pro/15 Pro Max” will include 8GB of memory (as previously speculated), against 6GB on the iPhones 14 Pro/14 Pro Max. Furthermore, the firm’s analysis corroborates practically all the rumors about the top-of-the-line models so far.
