Nnew day of national mobilization. This Saturday, March 11, the French are once once more called upon to pound the pavement once morest the pension reform. After the success of the previous day of Tuesday March 7 – the one that brought together the most demonstrators since the beginning of the movement, 3.5 million for the unions, 1.28 million for the police -, it is a question of accentuating the pressure on the government whose CGT criticizes the “contempt”. A symbol, while the Senate should be preparing to vote on the entire text if the progress of the debates allows it – they have until Sunday. A step, too, before an eighth day of mobilization Wednesday, March 15, day of the joint committee, where deputies and senators will have to agree on a common text.

At the same time, employees in several sectors continue the renewable strike in which they have been engaged since the beginning of the week. On the rails, in the Paris metro, but also in the air, transport is idling, despite improving day by day. Refinery employees are also very mobilized, and fuel shortages are beginning to be observed. What to expect on Saturday? We take stock.

Transports

The renewable strike continues at the SNCF: disturbances are therefore to be expected for this Saturday, March 11, even if the situation has improved during the week, whether on the main lines, the TER or the Ile- of France. Detailed traffic forecasts will be communicated the day before, Friday, around 5 p.m., but the company warns that traffic will remain disrupted all weekend.

RATP agents are also continuing their mobilization at the call of the inter-union. Here too, the detailed forecasts will be communicated on Friday followingnoon, but the RATP forecasts traffic “almost equivalent to the day of Friday”. In recent days, it is clear that the disturbances were not very noticeable in most metro lines, and buses and trams were operating normally. Only the RER B remained really disturbed among the lines managed by the management.

The day of national mobilization might also cause disruptions in the transport networks of large cities, spared by the renewable strike.

Air

This Saturday, March 11, the Civil Aviation Department invites companies to reduce their flight schedule by 20% from Orly, Marseille, Nantes, Toulouse and Bordeaux. A marked improvement in traffic: from Tuesday to Friday, companies were asked to preventively reduce their flight schedule by 20% at Roissy and 30% at other major French airports.

Fuel

The renewable strike continues in the refineries, and the CGT still claimed Thursday to block fuel shipments, although the sites continue to produce it. Because it touches the heart of the economy, this part of the movement is closely scrutinized, especially since in the fall, a strike at TotalEnergies had paralyzed the country by drying up service stations. They are still supplied by stocks spread over the territory, but 6% of them are in short supply. The oil groups still want to be reassuring, and ensure that these shortages are due to motorists who have come to refuel as a precaution.

Energy

The strike also continues at EDF, and employees manage to lower electricity production by several thousand megawatt hours every day, with no impact on distribution for the moment. The Enedis strikers continue their wild and targeted cuts.
