Who better than Jared Leto to interpret Morbius! Actor known for being a diehard in the characters he plays – we think in particular of Harry Goldfarb in Requiem for a dreamRadius in Dallas Buyers club or recently Paolo Gucci in House of Gucci – he readily admits being attracted to roles that give him the opportunity to transform himself in any way, physically, but also mentally and emotionally.
He is perfect here, playing the fragility, as well as the power and monstrosity of his character.
For Daniel Espinoza (Easy money, Close security, Life – Origin Unknown), the Swedish, Chilean-born director at the helm of this blockbuster confirms: “Jared Leto was the only actor who might really play the role of Morbius. It wasn’t really a choice, it was a predestination”.
And if you ever remain curious to know if Morbius will once once more cross paths with Spider-Man, as he has been able to do many times on paper in animated series or in video games, only one thing to do: run to see Morbius !
