Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Minister of Public Works, Claudia Centurión, signed the contracts for the award of two lots of the Ruta de la Soberanía, a 193-kilometer route that will cross the departments of Canindeyú and Amambay, along the border with Brazil.
The construction and maintenance of the paving of Route PY17 consists of 4 lots: 193.3 km on the main axis; 7 km on urban crossings and 21 km on bypasses of adjacent towns for a total of 221 kilometers.
Yesterday, Wednesday, Lot 1 was awarded to the TC Consortium, made up of Construpar SA and Tecnoedil SA Constructora, for G. 391,554 million, and Lot 2 was awarded for G. 349,929 million to the TEC Consortium, made up of Ecomipa SA, Concret Mix SA and Tocsa SA.
The Sovereignty Route includes the Pedro Juan Caballero-Zanja Pyta-Capitán Bado-Itanará-Ypejhú section, which covers the departments of Amambay and Canindeyú.
The project is financed with a USD 220 million loan from the Financial Fund for the Development of the Cuenca del Plata (Fonplata). It is estimated that the population that will benefit from this new road will be 150,000 people from highly productive areas that, until now, lacked the necessary infrastructure to boost their economy.
