MOPC awards works to strengthen road infrastructure and reduce accidents

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) awarded contracts for road safety works for an amount exceeding 328 billion guaraníes. The aim is to strengthen road infrastructure and reduce traffic accidents.

The first award corresponds to the call with ID No. 447,734, aimed at improving road safety in various sections of the country’s road network, including Asunción, Greater Asunción, north, south, east and center of the Eastern Region.

In this case, the bidders awarded according to resolution No. 1,409/24 were: Lot 1 Concret Mix SA for G. 18,132,680,312; Lot 2: Consorcio Carreteras Seguras (Serviam Paraguay Sociedad Anónima -LT SA and Constructora Acaray SA) for G. 90,108,039,822 and Lot 3, Consorcio Tránsito Seguro (Ocho A SA, Tecnoedil SA Constructora and Construtex SA) for G. 51,198,548,333. The total amount is G. 159,439,268,467.

This project aims to strengthen road infrastructure and reduce accidents, including improving road infrastructure on the sides of bridges, security in school zones and hospitals, and implementing horizontal thermoplastic signage in sensitive areas.

Second award

By ministerial resolution No. 1,401/24, the “National Public Tender for the improvement of safety in the country’s road infrastructure”, ID 447,738, is awarded to the consortiums: Lot 1 Consorcio Camino Seguro (Ocho A SA, Tecnoedil SA Constructora and Construtex SA) for G 109.003.257.029, and Lot 2 Consorcio Seguridad Paraguay (Serviam Paraguay Sociedad Anónima, – LT SA. and Constructora Acaray SA) for G. 60.104.689.264.

The works in the first batch include the installation of 78,000 linear meters of qualified and certified railings, among the most notable works.

Lot 2 mainly involves improving paint and horizontal signage. It also includes the installation of speed bump lines, removal and replacement of reflective studs and vertical signage, and the installation of vertical channeling devices, among other items.
