[OSEN=노진주 기자] Gangwon FC won the second ‘Yongsu Choi Derby’ of the season. The victory was won at a critical time when the draw should be cut off.
Gangwon won 1-0 in the 13th round home match of ‘Hana One Q K League 2 2022’ once morest FC Seoul held at Gangneung Sports Complex on the 18th. This is the first victory in 75 days and 9 games. The rankings are still low.

Director Choi Yong-soo is considered a ‘Seoul Legend’. He became the first Korean soccer player to win the championship as a single team player, coach and manager. After taking over as Seoul manager, he left great achievements such as winning the K-League in 2012, runner-up in the Asian Football Federation (AFC) Champions League (ACL) in 2013, and the FA Cup in 2015.
From April 2011 to June 2016 and from October 2018 to July 2020, coach Choi Yong-su led Seoul. In the middle, he briefly served as the manager of the Chinese Super League, Jiangsu Suning. After leaving Seoul in the summer of 2020, coach Choi Yong-soo took a break and took the baton of Gangwon last November.
The first match of the season between the two teams held in Seoul on April 6th resulted in a 2-2 draw.

The final goal came early. In the 29th minute of the first half, Hwang Moon-ki shook Seoul’s goal net. He caught a long pass coming from behind at the gates of Seoul, and scored a goal with a ground ball, overtaking Seoul defender Kim Jin-ya from behind. Hwang Moon-gi’s calmness at the door stood out.
Gangwon, who led the game quickly, did not give up the initiative followingwards. With a tight defense, Seoul’s attack was well repelled and the game ended with a 1-0 victory.
Gangwon, who escaped from a draw, will challenge Daegu FC at 4:30 pm on the 22nd.
