The Montreal Pride festival is back in force from August 3 to 13 for a 17th edition, following the cancellation of the parade in 2022.
The cancellation of last year’s parade was “a wake-up call for everyone”. The community realized the importance of this parade to Montreal Pride. Several changes have been made to ensure a successful festival.

This year, the general manager of Pride Montreal, Simon Gamache, confirms that it is a real comeback. “We are heading towards a record participation for the August 13 parade. This year, more than 180 registered organizations. So more than 15,000 people. It’s huge!” he added.
Despite last year’s problem, this did not dampen the organizations’ desire to participate, it even pushed them to be more interested.

For Mr. Gamache, Montreal Pride is fundamental to getting things done. “It’s a festival that makes visible and raises awareness of the advances and setbacks of LGBTQ +. We need that. We are going in the right direction. Keep trusting us, let’s go and work together.
From August 3 to 13, several activities will take place in the Village for the community and its allies. From August 9, the Festival will continue on the Esplanade of the Olympic Park to welcome more than 25,000 people to attend shows.
“It’s not just for the communities. It’s for everyone, we want to celebrate and have fun with our allies too,” says Mr. Gamache.
