A young driver can consider himself lucky to have suffered no injuries following a violent exit from the road following which his vehicle ended up on the Canadian Pacific (CP) rails in Montreal.
The accident occurred a little before 1 p.m., on rue Notre-Dame Est, between rue Frontenac and rue Alphonse-D.-Roy, not far from the Jacques-Cartier bridge.

For a reason still unknown, the driver lost control of his vehicle while traveling towards the city center.
His sport utility vehicle left the road before falling a few meters down a cliff and ending up on the CP rails.

Miraculously, the driver managed to extricate himself from his vehicle and return to dry land without suffering the slightest injury.
The incident caused a major traffic jam in the area due to the temporary closure of a traffic lane.
